How do you choose the right candle?

Choosing the right candle depends on two things: the size of the container and the amount of wax you actually get. To be clear, at Scenta you will sometimes see two different values: one in cl (on the website) and one in ml (on the label) .

1) First of all: what does "small / medium / large" mean at Scenta?

Choose the size based on the occasion and how long you want the candle to "hold".

  • Small : perfect for small gifts, "just because," flavor testing, or a quick vibe

  • Medium : the most balanced option (safe gift, daily use, good price-to-duration ratio)

  • Large : for impact (statement gift), larger spaces or when you want the aroma to linger for longer

2) Why do you see two values: cl on the website and ml on the label?

We chose to display things in this way to be as transparent as possible .

  • cl (centiliters) = container capacity measured with water (the standard used for any glass/jar)

  • ml (milliliters) = the amount of wax (actual product received), listed on the label

In short: cl describes the container , and ml describes the product .

3) Why cl ≠ ml? (simple explanation)

Water and wax do not behave identically. According to raw material manufacturers, wax has a density of about 80% of the density of water . This means that, for the same amount (mass), wax takes up more space than water .

Additionally, candles are not filled to the brim of the container (for safety and proper burning ), so there may be slight differences depending on filling, wick, and normal manufacturing tolerances.

4) What you actually get at each size (clear values)

Below are the values you see at Scenta and what they mean:

  • Small : 10 cl (water capacity) on the screen, 90 ml wax on the label

  • Medium : 20 cl (water capacity) on the screen, 160 ml wax on the label

  • Large : 30 cl (water capacity) on the screen, 220 ml wax on the label

5) Our quick recommendation

If you don't know what to choose:

  • go to Medium for a "safe" gift

  • Choose Large when you want a wow effect

  • choose Small when you want something cute, quick or for testing

6) Why did we choose to display it like this?

In the industry, containers are classified in cl (measured with water). We wanted to make it clear for you too, so we put ml of wax on the label, meaning the product you actually receive.
